MAKE YOUR LIFE COUNT.
Many years ago, I was told this powerful statement: “Twenty children don’t play together for twenty years.” This statement penetrated my being, and with time, I found out that it is very true. The true is you must make your life count. According to Pastor Faith Oyedepo, “During my childhood days, I had some friends while I was in the primary school. However, today, I do not know the whereabouts of most of them. I know it is so with you also. Truly, 20 children don’t play together for 20 years.!”
Even me, the where about of most of my friends today are unknown to me today; but certainly none of them is at the same spot I left them. Some have distinguished themselves in their various fields, making outstanding contribution to humanity. Others, with all divine abilities loaded in them by God, might not have made any meaningful difference at all.
Here are the questions: What would be said of you in 2o years’ time? In your business, career, spiritual life, marriage, vocation and every aspect of your life. What will you be remembered for in your generation? Are you affecting lives positively or merely existing, with no tangible proof to show?
The good news is: it is never too late to begin the journey of impact. You can begin where you are right now, and still make your life count positively in your generation. In making your life count, there is a place for personal responsibility. Life does not count on its own. Every life impact you see, was made possible by someone taking responsibility to be a positive contributor.
If your life must count, you must take responsibility in making it so! Job, the greatest man in the east in his time said: “That which I see not teach thou me” Job 34:32. He acknowledged his need for knowledge and called upon God for help. His yearning for knowledge delivered certain secrets to him, which made him positive reference in history till now.
Do you want to make your life count and be a positive point of reference in life? The Bible says in 2 Timothy 3:16-17:
“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.”
Whenever the Word of God comes your way, it is meant to accomplish four things in your life, among others: –
• To give you doctrine to follow
• To reprove you
• To correct you
• To instruct you in the way of righteousness
When these are accomplished in your life, the Bible says that you shall become perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. For your life to count, you must be ready to embrace these four-fold ministries of the Word of God in your life, bringing about the necessary changes that make for undeniable growth and progress. Besides, they will eventually turn you to a reference point, and make your life count.
