Discovering your purpose is knowing God

Myles Munroe said ” Until purpose is discovered, existence has no meaning, for purpose is the source of fulfillment”.

Let me begin with this illustration When a man goes into an electronic store to get an home theatre or a sound system, after he might have paid the bills of his desired one, he goes home very excited because he has gotten a new electronic gadget that suit his kind.

Has he gets home ,he removes the sound system from its box and places it at his required or desired position in the room, but he is yet to set and operates the system. I believe what he should be thinking of is how to operate the system and make the system fulfill its purpose has the manufacturer has designed it to be, but he wouldn’t know how to operate it except he consults the operational or manufacturer’s manual.

So he must consult the operational manual before he would be able to understand how the system operates and functions. I likened this illustration to buttress the title of this post HOW TO DISCOVER YOUR PURPOSE, you can only know your purpose when you ask your manufacturer, you never created yourself, so you can never discover your purpose yourself, It took me years before i would actually know who i was, i toiled different churches trying to know the one that suit my personality, not knowing that “one can never get a perfect church” so said by Rick warren, until one day i dropped my shadow-chasing pursuit and asked God, *what is actually my purpose* i want to know my purpose, i mean the main reason you created me, and he answer me.

God has a reason while He created you, He has an operational manual on how you need to function, God has not created you to just occupy space on earth, He has not created you to just live, He has created you to make impact on people, He has created you to make a difference within your circle, He has a plan for you, God said In my father’s house there are many mansions there. These mansion are for those you have fulfilled their purpose on earth. Do you know that Jesus Christ came to raise ” Kingdom of Believers” to reign with Him in paradise? If you don’t know your purpose here on earth then what do you want to accomplish in heaven.

God made it very clear in

Jeremiah 33:3 ; Call unpon me and i will answer you and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.

I really love this part “show you great and mighty things, which you do not know”

God wants you to ask, He wants to guide you, He want your fulfillment, that was why He said

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thought that I think towards you…, thought of peace and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Ask that you may receive directions, the prayer of enquiry is the prayer that offers directions. A discovery of yourself and your calling is one vital requirements to fulfilling your purpose. As the manufacturer has loaded the sound system with many functions, so has God loaded you with make gifts and deposits that distinguishes you from others, you are unique in your own way.
God has fearfully and wonderfully made you. You don’t need to waste your time, ask Him today and He will give you your manual for you to really know your place. Let me give you five benefits as i have discovered, for knowing your purpose.

1.    Knowing your purpose gives meaning to your life

2. Knowing your purpose defines and simplifies you.

3. Knowing your purpose makes you concentrate your energy and effort on what is important.

4. Knowing your purpose helps produce passion and commitents.

5. Knowing your purpose prepares you for eternity.

Discovering your purpose make you like a tree planted by the rivers, that does not wither, it flourishes both in and out of season.

I leave you with this saying by Abraham Lincoln

“Surely God would not have created such a being as man to exist only for a day! No, no, man was made for immortality”

“Discover your purpose and have your placement in God’s Kingdom” Author

In my next post i will be discussing ACCEPTING YOUR PURPOSE Roman 12:1-2, 1 timothy 4:14-16

God bless you.
